Install SAB Player Pro on Linux
Download the AppImage, allow it to run, then double-click it: SAB Player Pro starts with nothing to install. On Ubuntu, Debian or Linux Mint you can also install the .deb package.
- Download SAB-Player-Pro.AppImage with the button on this page: the link always gives the latest version.
- Allow the file to run: right-click, Properties, then tick "Allow executing file as program". In a terminal:
chmod +x SAB-Player-Pro-*.AppImage. - Double-click the file: SAB Player Pro starts.
- With the .deb package (Ubuntu, Debian, Mint): open it with the software installer, or type
sudo apt install ./sab-player-pro_*_amd64.deb. The app then appears in the applications menu.
AppImage or .deb package?
The AppImage runs on almost every distribution, with nothing to install: a single file you keep wherever you like. The .deb package installs SAB Player Pro like any Ubuntu, Debian or Linux Mint app, with its icon in the menu. For an ARM computer (Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 in 64-bit, ARM laptop), take the 64-bit ARM version.
🔄 Automatic updates: the AppImage updates itself; the .deb package downloads the new version, and Linux may ask for your password to install it.

- The SAB Player Pro screen updates by itself.

Frequently asked questions
Is SAB Player Pro available on Linux?
Yes. SAB Player Pro for Linux runs on almost every distribution with a graphical desktop (Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint, Fedora, openSUSE, Arch…) and is a free download on this page. The current version is 2.0.74.
Which file should I pick?
The AppImage, in most cases: it runs everywhere with nothing to install. On Ubuntu, Debian or Linux Mint, the .deb package installs the app like any other. For a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 in 64-bit or another ARM computer, take the 64-bit ARM version.
The AppImage does not start, what can I do?
Check that it is allowed to run (right-click, Properties, "Allow executing file as program", or chmod +x in a terminal). If your system has no FUSE, start it from a terminal with the --appimage-extract-and-run option, or install the .deb package.
How do I add my playlist to SAB Player Pro?
Note the MAC address and password shown by the app, open the Playlists page (device.sabplayer.com/list), sign in with them and add your M3U playlist or Xtream Codes login. The app updates by itself.
Does SAB Player Pro provide any content?
No. SAB Player Pro is a media player only: we do not provide, host or distribute any content. You add your own playlists and you are responsible for their content.
How do updates work?
Automatically. The download link on this page always gives the latest version (2.0.74 at the moment).
How do I switch to full screen?
Press F11 or Alt+Enter, or double-click the picture.
